DISTRICT NO. 12, MAKES MERRY.

-- A big logrolling bee took place last Tuesday [Jun 29, 1915], among the men of the new school district No. 12, [Fern Hill school], when under the leadership of Frank Stehman, a great amount of clearing was done on the site of the new school house.

[Fern Hill school] Hurrah for our new school! The work is going on nicely, and we hope to have it completed by school time.

[Fern Hill school] Miss Atheline Tolly of Scappoose was here last Saturday and while here closed a contract with the directors of the Stehman school as teacher for the coming year. Miss Tolly is a graduate of the Scappoose High School from which institution she graduated with the highest markings of her class.

[Fern Hill school] Miss Atheline Tolley has signed a contract to teach the Beaver Valley school the coming year. This school is located about four miles from Rainier. A new model building is being erected and Miss Tolly is congratulating herself on entering a nice, new, perfectly clean, and sanitary building. -- Cor.

[Fern Hill school] Our school house is nearing completion and school is expected to start soon. The teacher and children are to be congratulated on having such a fine building for their work.

[Fern Hill school] We had the pleasure of seeing the new school house in the Beaver Valley district last Sunday. It certainly is a credit to that part of the county. Two acres were purchased from the Counts' estate for the purpose, on an elevated piece of land.

[Fern Hill school] Miss Tolly began teaching in the new Stehman school house on last Monday, and is making her home with Mrs. Cain.
